CTK Defibrillator initiative
Christ the King Junior Football Club, who with help from the West Midlands Ambulance Service Community First Responder Scheme and Coventry Schools Foundation have purchased 2 Defibrillators for our 2 home grounds in Coventry.
Christ the King Junior Football Club has 29 Junior teams ranging from U6’s – U18’s and 3 senior teams from 18’s+, with over 400 junior players and 78 coaches they will all benefit from these life saving pieces of equipment.
The venues where these devices are located support not only the football club and their visiting guests, but also a school sports facility, which hosts cricket, rugby and hockey (7 days a week) and the local community.
Bobby Quaum and Kieran Kennedy (also our Clubs Welfare Officer) have trained nearly 50 of our coaches / officials and helpers on how to use these life-saving pieces of equipment.
As part of our 70th Anniversary we are running a series of celebratory events and on Saturday 4th March, Christ The King FC held a Gentleman’s evening with the guest speakers being Robbie Fowler (Ex Liverpool / Manchester City and England player) and Jason McAteer (Ex Liverpool, Bolton and Republic of Ireland player).
Robbie and Jason were made aware of our purchasing of these defibrillators and were more than happy to support this initiative which we thank them greatly for.
